I was invited by the Delhi Crafts Council to be part of PRATIBIMB, celebrating 25 years of Sarees of India. This edition focuses on the saree as it’s worn every day by the women while working, praying, travelling, and moving through their lives with ease wrapped in six yards of unstitched fabric.
The saree isn’t just clothing; it’s movement, colour, and an unspoken confidence. Its patterns and hues reflect the vibrancy of our textile traditions, and its continued use supports the handloom sector that depends on it.
I’m grateful the Council trusted me to document these moments—the beauty, the challenges, and the ordinary magic of women for whom the saree is simply a part of life. PRATIBIMB is my tribute to both the saree and the women who wear it.
