I was commissioned by Robin Roy Films to photograph for the National Geographic Channel documentary Inside NSG:
The National Guard in India. I worked closely with his team to capture the intensity, discipline, and unseen world of India’s elite force.
From smoke-filled drills to low-lit corridors, I tried to read the silence between orders—the moments when focus hardens into instinct. There is theatre here: shadows, goggles catching the beam of a flashlight, bodies moving as one. But beneath the choreography lies something deeply human—fatigue, trust, and the quiet repetition that shapes readiness.
Among the most compelling were the canine and bomb disposal units—teams that operate on pure instinct and precision. Watching a handler move in sync with his dog or a technician defuse danger felt like witnessing concentration in its purest form. For me, these images are portraits of preparation—of men and animals trained to stay still before the storm, always waiting for a moment that may never come.
